GRHYMEZ RATED NEXT: GET IN WHERE U FIT IN
Ashanti’s new album 'The Declaration' is certainly not a declaration of her singing abilities. The album is a mixture of alright tracks that will go in one ear and then go out the other as soon as it enters. The first single released “The Way That I Love You” is the best track vocally on this album. You have to kind of give her credit because she is doing the promotion of this album all by herself, but maybe she should have stayed in the studio a little longer.
With limited moves on the dance floor and limited vocal range, staying in her lane would be the best move for Ashanti's singing career. We love the soft, sweet, soprano so if it aint broke don't fix it! Get in where you fit in (while the competition like Ciara and Beyonce' are still in the studio).
Overall this album will disappoint people who are looking for a continuation of the strength that was felt in her first single. Even loyal Ashanti fans might be disappointed by this album.
