Jazmine is a refreshing addition to R&B. She straight up kills. Her voice is like a gospel, neo-soul, jazzy R&B mixture. She reminds me a little of Lauryn Hill, but her voice is grittier. Her singing is so honest and real, which is what good neo-soul is about. Shout-out to Algebra, PJ Morton, Eric Roberson, Anthony David and everyone else representin.

Her first single produced by Missy is “Need U Bad” that has a reggae feel to it. Don’t get it twisted though Jazmine is not nu to the game. She’s been singing since she was 5. She was discovered after a performance on Apollo where she sang “Accept What God Allows”. She was signed briefly with J Records, but dropped soon thereafter. Since being dropped from J Records she’s sang background for Fantasia and written songs like “Say I” for Christina Milian.

Jazmine is definitely a true talent and I’m lovin it. I’m so tired of ringtone wonders and chicks that get album deals because they’re marketable as opposed to talented. I can’t wait to hear more from her, but for now check out some clips of the chick Jazmine in action.
